If you’re not in the NJ/NY/Philly area, you may just want to skip right over this one…
For the rest of us, the Mid-NJ chapter of the ASTD has some potentially valuable events coming up, with speakers who know our industry.
Wednesday, April 18th, 8-11 am (Somerset, NJ)
Ed Betof, Chief Learning Officer of Becton Dickinson (BD), will be presenting on the subject of Leaders as Teachers: Building Organization Capability at Becton Dickinson. BD is a Life Sciences company with some great training programs in place, so this should be excellent stuff.
Thursday, May 10th, 6-8 pm (Princeton, NJ)
Karl Kapp, Training Educator and Consultant, will be presenting on the subject of Gadgets, Games, and Gizmos for Learning – the subject of his just-released new book. Dr Kapp has worked with many life sciences companies and will help us understand the training challenges presented by the new generation of “gamer” workers.
There is also a Sales Training SIG meeting coming up on the morning of June 7th (Raritan), on Improving Sales through Evaluations and Development Plans (full posting of this event coming soon)
To register: Go to the Mid-NJ ASTD site, and click on the links to the left. That will bring you to the registration page, where you can sign up on-line.
You may also wish to visit the newly launched Mid-NJ ASTD blog.
(Full disclosure: I serve as the VP Communications for the chapter. Which means two things – I really want to see lots of people benefit from these events; AND I do try to make sure that we line up speakers and topics that you’ll enjoy!)
