I try to keep my finger on the pulse of what is happening with Social Media and eMarketing within the pharma industry. Where do I look for information? Here are my trade secrets:
Best “listing” resource: Jon Richman’s Pharma and Healthcare Social Media Wiki (on his Dose of Digital blog). Whenever I get an inquiry about what’s happening in pharma soc med, this is where I point people to.
Most regularly updated blog on pharma marketing: John Mack’s Pharma Marketing blog. John’s always on top of what’s happening in this space, and he’s not afraid to venture opinions. It’s also a good idea to keep an eye on Dose of Digital.
Best news portal: With all due modesty, I guess I’ll point you to my Pharmacentral site, built with Pageflakes, which pulls together all the leading pharma blogs and news sites into one easy-to-navigate interface. Alltop also has a pharma section.
Most prolific and confusing site: Twitter is the best place to find all the good stuff. However, if you don’t intend to make a major commitment to a presence on Twitter, take a look at Pharmatweetical. This site gives you a snapshot of up-to-the-moment “tweets” from many of the top pharma Twitter people.
From these four sources, you can pretty easily find the top blogs, top news feeds, top advances, and top networkers in the industry. If you have any questions or need more guidance, just contact me – I’m glad to help.

Nice recap and links – I found myself nodding along to most as I use them frequently too. Sorry I’m missing the event this week, but perhaps I’ll see you in DC in November if you’re headed here for the hearing?
